Nordic Brass Gusum AB is one of Sweden’s oldest industrial companies, with roots dating back to the 1600s, and is today the only brass foundry in the Nordic region. The production consists of about 25,000 tons of brass in the form of bars, ingots, nuts, and hot-pressed components. The brass is produced in the company’s own factory, which is among the leading facilities in Europe.

A Golden-Shining Metal

Brass is a material with many possibilities and applications. Its main components are copper and zinc. By adding various alloying elements, the brass can be given unique properties, and there are many different brass grades adapted for various types of processing and end products.

At Nordic Brass Gusum, we manufacture brass in the form of bars, profiles, and ingots. These serve as semi-finished products that are further refined by our customers. Examples of final products include screws, nuts, plumbing fittings, lock components, electrical parts, and decorative items, among others.

Recycling

We are very proud of our return system based on loop trucks that both deliver products and collect chips and scrap generated in our customers' own production processes.

This means that our customers can pay part of their new brass orders with their own production waste, as we collect it and melt it down into new brass. All transports are carried out with vehicles that meet the EUR6 emission standards, and our Swedish loop trucks also run on HVO-100.

Complete Service Under One Roof

Nordic Brass Gusum manufactures semi-finished brass products for the plumbing, engineering, automotive, construction, electrical, and telecom industries, in one of Europe’s leading production facilities.

We supply the market with a wide range of high-quality brass products such as round, square, and hexagonal bars, profiles, nuts, hot-forged components, and ingots.

Lead-Free Brass – AquaNordic®

Nordic Brass Gusum has developed a production method for lead-free brass, the AquaNordic® process. With the AquaNordic® method, we manufacture free-cutting brass CW510L AquaNordic® and dezincification-resistant brass (DZR) CW511L AquaNordic®.

The alloys are lead-free and have excellent machining properties, on par with brasses containing higher levels of lead. Nordic Brass Gusum also offers a lead-free alloy for ingots intended for low-pressure and die casting, CB771S AquaNordic®, which is both dezincification-resistant and polishable. In addition, all alloys meet regulatory requirements and are 100% recyclable.
