At the Forefront

At Nordic Brass Gusum AB, we work with sustainability in various forms. 

Recycling

95 percent of Nordic Brass Gusum’s raw material comes from recycled material, and a large part comes from material left over when customers further process the brass.

Own Return System

Chips and scrap are collected from our customers in connection with Nordic Brass Gusum’s deliveries, to be remelted into new brass. The Swedish loop trucks run on 100% HVO100.

Fossil-Free Energy

We use electricity from hydropower.

Internal Energy Recycling

We make use of the excess heat generated in our type of process to heat our facilities.

Lowest CO2 Emissions in Its Class

When melting brass, Nordic Brass Gusum is the best in the world in terms of CO2 emissions.

For a Swedish customer, this means a reduced CO2 footprint of up to one fifth. 

Carbon dioxide emissions must be drastically reduced to slow down global warming.

AquaNordic® – Lead-Free Brass

Nordic Brass’s own method for the production of lead-free brass.

A cost-effective brass alloy that is lead-free, dezincification-resistant, and easy to process.

The product meets all regulatory requirements – and is one hundred percent recyclable.

ISO Certifications

We work systematically with environmental issues using an environmental management system certified according to ISO 14001. 

We work in the same way with quality and energy issues and are also certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
